Under the situation of high rates of unemployment and inflation, people are eagerly seeking thoughtful and rational advices to improve the economy. Therefore, the visit of Dr. Sims would provide a precious opportunity for us to discuss current economic issues.
Last month, we have met with Dr. Thomas J. Sargent, the co-winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2011, and Dr. Ferid Murad, the winner of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1998. And this week, we met another Nobel Laureate in Economics in 2011, Dr. Christopher A. Sims. So far, AU has invited nine Nobel Laureates to share their ideas and insights from different disciplines. It is believed that the series of Nobel Forums would broaden students’ horizons and enrich their life experiences.
