The library is located in the Library-Research Hall. The total library floor space in use is 6956 square meters. The library includes the following sections: multi-media audio-visual aids, online catalogs, books in Chinese, books in foreign languages, references, periodicals, and newspapers. It is open to students and faculty as well as to the public. Its hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the weekends. Hours are subject to change for winter and summer breaks.
In addition to books and periodicals, audios, visuals, and multi-media equipments are also available. Reading-rooms are open 24 hours daily. Undergraduates can check out ten books for two weeks, graduate students twenty books for one month, and the faculty thirty books for one month. Books can be renewed once before the due date if they are not reserved by someone else. The library provides readers with nation-wide interlibrary loan and photocopying services to acquire materials not available in the library. In return, the library shares its resources with other libraries as well.
The library is not just a book database; it is also a place of art collections and exhibitions. There are many artworks created by world-famous artists like Rodin, Arman, Degas, etc. Have a look at them when you visit the library to purify your spirit!
Also located in the library is a coffee shop operated by students from the Department of Leisure and Recreation as course training. In addition, there is an on-campus bookstore, where students can buy books, stationery supplies and other necessities, which is located beside the library building.
