AU’s College of Management Passed AACSB Accreditation Again---

President Tsai took a meeting photo with three AACSB reviewers.

AU’s College of Management passed the accreditation by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)again in February, 2022. AU became an AACSB member in 2007 and passed the accreditation for the first time in 2017. Professor Chun-Wei Remen Lin, Dean of College of Management, expressed his pride in his faculty and staff as they worked diligently for the accreditation in the past five years.

Today there are over 16,000 colleges of business management worldwide, but only 5% of them are able to be accredited by AACSB, which is deemed one of the top three accreditation organizations in the world.

Three AACSB reviewers, Dr. Ross James, Dr. Wilert Puriwa, and Dr. Paul Tesluk, were impressed by AU’s efforts and achievement in artificial intelligence and environmental sustainability. Though affected by the outbreak of COVID-19, AU’s College of Management was very innovative in offering many AI-related management courses and setting up an AUXLab, which integrates AU Eats in the student cafeteria, AI Reading Café in the library, and AU Bon Bon, an electronic commerce shop, into an educational platform that can offer AU students practical opportunities in the application of AI knowledge and skills in real life.

The reviewers spoke highly of Dean Lin’s leadership in preparation for this accreditation and they also praised the College of Management, especially its innovative strategies in promoting industry-academy cooperation. Dr. Ross James, the coordinator of the reviewing team, suggested to Dean Lin that AU apply for European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) to gain more international recognition. He believed that AU can stand out in the field of artificial intelligence and financial data.

Dean Lin said that he would like to thank all his team members in preparing for this accreditation. Without their efforts, the review would not have gone so smoothly. Dean Lin also expressed his gratitude for the support from President Tsai and other colleges and departments because they together make College of Management a better and more competitive academy globally.
