The UK QS's ranking for "Asia's Best Universities" this year is the largest to date. Following the evaluation, institutions from 25 countries, totaling 857 universities and colleges, were included in the rankings. Taiwan had 46 universities on the list, with 14 among the top 250. Among QS's six major evaluation criteria, "academic reputation" and "employer reputation" held substantial weight and received positive evaluations.
Founder of Asia University, Chang-Hai Tsai, emphasized that the UK QS "Asia's Best Universities" ranking stands as a crucial indicator within the global academic and corporate sectors, assessing a university's academic research strength and its students' international employability. The substantial leap in ranking for Asia University showcases the academic and corporate recognition of its educational achievements.
President Jeffrey J.P. Tsai highlighted that in its 23-year history, Asia University remains the youngest university in Taiwan. Over the past decade, it has consistently featured in four major international rankings, including The Times Higher Education, QS, Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Academic Ranking of World Universities, and U.S. News & World Report's "Best Universities." Domestically, it has secured leading positions in rankings by Common Wealth Magazine and Global Views Monthly. With an increasing number of alumni each year, it has been recognized as the "Most Preferred Private University by Corporates." This year, Asia University is positioned as the "Generation AI Year," collaborating and synchronizing with institutions such as Harvard, MIT, AWS Amazon, and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), aligning with global trends to enhance students' international employability.
Ching-Hsien Hsu, the Director of office of Research and Development at Asia University, mentioned that QS's evaluation criteria encompass six aspects: "academic reputation," "student-to-faculty ratio," "faculty citation per paper," "employer reputation," "international student ratio," and "international faculty ratio." Asia University performed well across these aspects, particularly excelling in "academic reputation" and "employer reputation."
