Department of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine of Asia University performed exceptionally well in the year 2023 national veterinary licensing examination, with a passing rate of 77.14%, far exceeding the national average of 43.83%. One student from the program ranked fourth nationwide. Professor Chi-Hsien Chien, chair of the Department of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine, said that the program is designed to allow students to achieve maximum results in the shortest amount of time. Asia University Veterinary Teaching Hospital provides a teaching and practical training environment, enabling students to balance theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. The strength accumulated through this practical training is clearly reflected in the national licensing examination results.

Chair Chi-Hsien Chien mentioned that the Department of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine of Asia University is the only postgraduate veterinary program in Taiwan. It attracts graduates from various universities, including National Taiwan University and other doctoral programs, indicating strong demand in the job market. The recently established Asia University Veterinary Teaching Hospital, operational since May, provides students with internship opportunities. Collaborating with experienced veterinarians, students can accumulate clinical experience and apply their knowledge in practice, conducting clinical research, exploring animal healthcare, and epidemic prevention and control.

A student from the Department of Post-Baccalaureate Veterinary Medicine, Wang, who recently passed the licensing examination, pointed out that the exam is becoming increasingly challenging. During the preparation process, students often experience anxiety, especially in subjects like pharmacology and infectious diseases, which require intensive study. Wang expressed gratitude for the free veterinary licensing examination tutoring provided by Asia University. The instructors in the department organize mnemonic devices clearly and systematically, using storytelling to enhance memory. The dedicated teaching and the resources invested by the school have significantly enhanced the students' professional abilities, enabling them to successfully pass the licensing examination.

Chair Chi-Hsien Chien emphasized that the veterinary profession encompasses diverse roles such as public health, zoonoses, animal product hygiene, economic and companion animal medicine, aquatic and wildlife medicine, cancer medicine, and animal welfare. Veterinary medicine is closely related to human life and the Earth's environment, making it one of the most promising fields in the present and future. Due to the hands-on nature of the veterinary career, students rotate through different areas of practice, including companion animal industry, livestock industry, and public veterinary institutions. This approach allows students to enhance their expertise in various fields. Upon graduation, students seamlessly transition into their careers, fully capable of shouldering the responsibilities of a veterinarian from the very first day of work.
